In the Fall 2022 semester, I was in David Bondelevitch’s Audio Post-Production course at the University of Colorado Denver. In this course, groups of four students were tasked with taking a movie trailer and creating a full sound redesign. For this project, my group and I chose Disney’s “Turning Red.”
In this project, my group and I completed a thorough spotting session, synthesized Foley recordings and library sound effects, recorded ADR for all characters, and sourced other music to create a completely new soundscape. Additionally, we were not allowed to use any source material from the original trailer or movie as a whole.
The product was recorded, mixed, and mastered all in Pro Tools before final delivery at the end of the semester.
